After years of researches, BIOTEX laboratories discover POLYPROPYLENE, a synthetic water-repellent yarn, as functional perspiring fabric that can guarantee:

  • Warmth
  • Breathability
  • Ease of use
  • Hygiene

The unique features of this yarn processed by BIOTEX technology produce the most functional and performing underwaer.

WARMTH

Polypropylene has the lower coefficient of heat transfer and the higher insulating power compared to the other textile yarns. It restrains the loss of heat when it is cold.

BREATHABILITY

Polypropylene has the lower absorbent coefficient of liquids and the greater permeability to water vapor compared to the other textile yarns. Skin stays dry and the best perspiration is guaranteed.

EASE OF USE

Polypropylene is:

- very light. It weights 32% less than wool and 34% less than polyester;

- resistant to abrasion, wear and tear. Polypropylene fabrics don’t felt nor cause peeling effect;

- high elastic modulus that guarantees dimensional stability and avoids rubbing both in dry and wet conditions;

- stay clean as it can not create chemical bond with other substances. Dirt can not permeate polypropylene fibre;

- easy-washing with a small quantity of cleaner and a washing temperature up to 60°;

- excellent color stability as it is colored with polymeric pigments before being spinned. You can wash different colors together and brackish water can not alterate it.

- no ironing needed because of its thermomechanical features. It is enough to lay or hang it well when drying. Avoid direct contact to the iron becuase of its low melting point (169°) and its softening point (140°).

HYGIENE

Polypropylene garments do not require specific additional finishing.  Therefore, they are healthy.

They are extremely resistant to mold and mildew and moth attack. Moreover, Polyopropylene can not cause allergies on skin and mucous membranes, even if you are sensitive.

Polypropylene production process is absolutely ecological. It does not cause eitherair or environmental pollution.

It does not produce wastewater as washing is not needed unlike wool process.

It does not require bleaching process unlike cotton cycle production. This avoids wastewater containing chemical bleaching.

Polypropylene dyeing is made with solid pigments, which are not soluble in water nor in solvents. Polluting colored waterwaster in not prodcued.

Waste materials are 100% recyclable.
