Why are we talking about bikejoring, also known in Italy as canicross?
Wea re talking about canicross because we have the luck to have, among our Biotex Fans, two champions of this specialty, that would be Vito Fiore with his Uma, winners in the Vet2 category, and Lorenzo Tura with her sister Fly, first palce in the vet1 category and winners of the general chart with the fastest time on the track.
Fot these extraordianry results, they will take part in the next 2022 World Canicross Championships – ICF, tahat will take place in Bretagna in Pledran (France), result we are very proud of.
What are the secrets of these champions that triumphed in their respective races?
Both are determined, constant, gritty but, overall, have an unmatchable ally on their sides: Biotex garments that support them without restricting their motions.
To practice canicross, the necessary garments are basically the cycling ones, nevetheless our two champions have different preferences.

How was your race?
Lorenzo glowingly replied describing how our garments supported him in this tough competition.
“The last season race in Cefcina before the Italian and the world championships was amazing, the location in the pine grove next to the seaside, with a track refined in every detail, technical and fast, was breathtaking until the end.
The sync between own buddy had to simply unique, in the passes among trees and roots, the confidence was the key for the victory, united by the stretch line, lead us to the finish line.
Nothing has been left to chance, from the training to the trakc inspection, to race apparel, started at the maximum, I didn’t even notice I had worn the arm warmers, they adapt perfectly to the arm making you forget to have them on, with the Hightech T-Shirt, that enabled me to stay warm from the warm up to the arrival.
The irreplaceble thermal touch gloves have become my favourite mates both in reaces and in training sessions, they are thin, warm, and endowed with a great grip in all situations, also during our night training sessions under the rain!
In a technical track such as that one in the pine grove, they kept my grip firm on my mtb handlebars”
What else should I say? They are simply extreme.
What is exactly bikejoring, or as we call it, canicross?
The bikejoring is a team race, whose partecipants are teams made up of one or more dogs that wear a special lashing tied thanks to a very elastic cable to bike and a cyclist.
Team partecipants challenge each other, to see who is capable to covering a refined track in the shortest possible time.
And I will tell you more, although this sport has become more popular over the last years, its origins are very ancient, they date back indeed ti 7800-8000 years ago when our ancestors used dogs as locomotive tools to carry load in cold and crooked areas.
Initially, dogs use was due to mainly logistic reasons, dogs were regarded as locomotive tools for working reasons.
Only over the last few years, more and more athletes have started practicing this sport worldwide, its popularity, nevertheless is higher in colder norrhern countries such as north American states and the Scandinavian ones where there is a long “Mushers” tradition, that is sleigh drivers.
In Italy it is spreading like a wild fire gathering more and more aficionados for the thrilling races both for cyclists ad dogs.
